Carnival Moon Dough
We had a lot of fun making Moon Dough to accompany our Recipe Books. Moon Dough is made by mixing cornflour and hair conditioner. Not only does it feel soft and silky, but it smells great to.

Maliesi's New Puppy
We were so lucky to meet Maliesi's new puppy last week. She was very friendly. Some of us were treated to a cuddle and a face wash.

Playdough...Fundough
We have a new task to explore...
The TASK
The teachers at Kahikatea Kindy have noticed some of their children are bored with the playdough. They are concerned that if they don’t change their recipe to make it more exciting, lots of children will stop playing at the playdough table. Many of the children have food allergies so they need to be careful what ingredients they use. Your task is to come up with a recipe for playdough, that meets the following criteria:
- doesn't stain
- is safe to eat - might be horrible to eat but is
safe for children with allergies
- doesn’t go mouldy
- is inexpensive
- is pliable and stretchy
- is exciting for kindy kids to play with

Collaborative Writing Using Google Docs
Wednesday 8pm
At 8pm on Wednesday night, Mrs O and Mrs H discovered Logan and Ethan working together on a collaborative document via their google drives. Together they were drafting, recrafting and editing an A to T poem on Minecraft.
Mrs O and Mrs H were able to watch the writing unfold and to make comments as the boys went. The photo above is a screen shot of what was happening.
Google docs has sparked a real interest in writing for these boys and this has spilled into the classroom today. Other children are becoming interested.
This is an example of how learning can happen anywhere, anyplace and at anytime.
Such an exciting time.

Fact vs Opinion
How do we know the difference between a fact and an opinion?
Fact = you can prove it
Opinion = people's thoughts and ideas
To help us learn these, we found a cool game on the web. Click on the link below and have a go yourself!
